3. Male × Female Threaded Connection
The main difference between this valve and a conventional Female × Female ball valve is its mixed connection configuration.
Male Thread End
The external threaded end connects directly to a compatible female-threaded pipe, fitting or component.
Female Thread End
The internal threaded end connects to a compatible male-threaded pipe, fitting or component.
This configuration can reduce the need for an additional male-to-female adapter where the piping layout already requires different connection types at each side of the valve.
4. ISO 228 / BSPP Parallel Thread
The current technical specification identifies the connection as ISO 228 parallel pipe thread, commonly referred to as BSPP or G thread.
ISO 228 threads are parallel rather than tapered.
The complete sealing method should therefore match the design of the connected pipe or fitting.
BSPP, BSPT and NPT are different thread systems. Do not select a replacement valve based only on nominal size such as 1/2″ or 3/4″. Confirm the actual thread standard before ordering.

8. How Does the Brass Ball Valve Work?
A ball valve controls flow by rotating an internal ball through approximately 90 degrees.
Open Position
When the bore in the internal ball is aligned with the pipeline, the medium can pass through the valve.
Turn the Lever
Rotating the blue lever handle turns the valve stem and internal ball.
Closed Position
After approximately a quarter turn, the solid side of the ball blocks the flow path and isolates the pipeline.
9. When Is a Male × Female Ball Valve Useful?
A mixed-thread ball valve can be useful when a piping system requires a male connection at one side and a female connection at the other.
Compared with installing a Female × Female valve together with an additional threaded adapter, a Male × Female configuration may provide a more direct connection where the dimensions and thread requirements match.
