The currently available technical information does not specify the exact brass alloy, stem material, gate material, packing material or other internal component materials. Confirm these parameters when they are required for a project.

3. What Does Full Port Mean?

The factory technical information identifies this model as a full port brass gate valve.

In the fully open position, the gate moves away from the main flow passage so that the valve provides an open path through the body.

When comparing gate valves, port configuration should be considered together with the actual internal dimensions, pressure rating, material specification and connection requirements.

Buyer Tip:
“Full port” should be treated as a product configuration rather than a general indication that the valve is stronger, heavier or higher quality.

4. How Does a Brass Gate Valve Work?

A gate valve controls flow by moving an internal gate between the open and closed positions.

Turn the Handwheel

Rotating the handwheel operates the valve stem and moves the internal gate.

Gate Opens

As the gate moves away from the flow passage, the valve opens and allows the medium to pass through.

Gate Closes

Turning the handwheel in the opposite direction moves the gate back into the flow path.

Pipeline Is Isolated

In the fully closed position, the valve restricts flow through the pipeline.

5. Designed for Isolation Service

Gate valves are primarily used for fully open or fully closed pipeline isolation.

They are generally selected where a section of piping needs to be opened or isolated rather than continuously regulated.

A gate valve should not automatically be selected for precision throttling or continuous flow regulation. Valve type should match the actual control requirement.

6. Female × Female Threaded Ends

This model uses female threaded connections on both ends.

Both valve ends connect to compatible male-threaded pipes, fittings or other components.

For replacement valves, buyers should confirm both nominal size and thread standard before ordering.

7. ISO 228 / BSPP Parallel Thread

The current factory specification identifies the thread standard as ISO 228.

ISO 228 specifies parallel pipe threads. In international valve and plumbing markets, these connections are commonly referred to as BSPP or G threads.

Because the threads are parallel rather than tapered, the complete sealing method should match the design of the connected piping system.

Connection Tip:
ISO 228 / BSPP should not be confused with BSPT or NPT tapered threads. Similar nominal sizes do not mean the thread systems are interchangeable.

8. Available Sizes

Nominal Size Connection Thread Standard
1/2″ Female × Female ISO 228 / BSPP
3/4″ Female × Female ISO 228 / BSPP
1″ Female × Female ISO 228 / BSPP
1-1/4″ Female × Female ISO 228 / BSPP
1-1/2″ Female × Female ISO 228 / BSPP
2″ Female × Female ISO 228 / BSPP

9. Working Pressure and Temperature

The current technical specification lists a normal pressure of:

1.6 MPa / 16 bar

The specified working temperature range is:

-20°C to 150°C

Actual product selection should consider working pressure, temperature and medium together rather than pressure rating alone.

10. Working Media

The current technical specification identifies this full port brass gate valve for:

  • Water
  • Compatible non-corrosive liquids
If another medium is required, confirm chemical compatibility, working pressure, temperature and internal component requirements before ordering.

11. Typical Applications

This type of threaded brass gate valve can be used for manual isolation in compatible water and general liquid piping systems.

12. What Should Buyers Confirm Before Ordering?

Two brass gate valves that look similar may still have different internal dimensions, materials and technical specifications.

Before comparing quotations, confirm:

  • Required valve size
  • Full port requirement
  • ISO 228 / BSPP thread
  • Working pressure
  • Working temperature
  • Working medium
  • Required brass alloy, if specified
  • Internal component requirements
  • Logo and valve marking
  • Packaging requirements
  • Order quantity
