This brass check valve with male and female threads is designed to allow fluid to flow automatically in one direction while helping prevent reverse flow in the piping system.
The valve uses a compact brass body with male × female BSPP threaded connections, making it suitable for installations where different connection types are required on each side of the valve.
The current product range includes sizes from 1/2″ to 2″, with a normal pressure rating of 1.6 MPa and a specified working temperature range from -20°C to 100°C.

3. How Does a Brass Check Valve Work?
A check valve, also known as a non-return valve or one-way valve, operates automatically according to the pressure difference in the pipeline.
Fluid pressure in the correct flow direction opens the internal closing element and allows the medium to pass through the valve.
Water, gas or another compatible non-corrosive fluid continues downstream through the valve.
When forward pressure decreases or reverse pressure develops, the internal closing element moves toward the closed position.
The valve closes automatically to help prevent fluid from flowing backward through the pipeline.
4. Male × Female Threaded Connection
Unlike a check valve with two female threaded ends, this model combines a male thread on one side and a female thread on the other.
This configuration can simplify installations where the adjacent pipe or fitting requires different connection types at each end.
Male Thread End
The external threaded end connects to a compatible female-threaded pipe, fitting or component.
Female Thread End
The internal threaded end connects to a compatible male-threaded pipe, fitting or component.
5. BSPP Parallel Thread Connection
This brass check valve uses a BSPP parallel pipe thread.
When selecting a replacement valve or sourcing a new product, the thread standard should be confirmed together with the nominal size.
A valve marked as 1/2″ or 3/4″ does not automatically mean that every thread standard is interchangeable.
Always confirm both the nominal valve size and the required BSPP connection before ordering, especially for replacement and OEM projects.
6. Available Sizes
| Nominal Size | Connection | Thread Standard |
|---|---|---|
| 1/2″ | Male × Female | BSPP |
| 3/4″ | Male × Female | BSPP |
| 1″ | Male × Female | BSPP |
| 1-1/4″ | Male × Female | BSPP |
| 1-1/2″ | Male × Female | BSPP |
| 2″ | Male × Female | BSPP |
7. Working Pressure and Temperature
The current technical specification lists a normal pressure of 1.6 MPa.
The specified working temperature range is:
-20°C to 100°C
Actual product selection should also consider the fluid medium, operating pressure, temperature and other system conditions.
8. Working Media
According to the current technical specification, this brass check valve can be used with:
- Water
- Gas
- Compatible non-corrosive liquids
9. Typical Applications
Male × female threaded brass check valves are commonly used where automatic reverse-flow prevention is required within a compact threaded piping system.
Water Supply
Plumbing Systems
Pump Connections
General Fluid Systems
Final suitability depends on the actual working medium, pressure, temperature, installation arrangement and product specification.
10. Installation Considerations
The valve should be installed according to the flow-direction marking on the valve body.
Before installation, confirm:
- Correct flow direction
- Nominal valve size
- BSPP thread compatibility
- Male and female connection orientation
- Working pressure
- Working temperature
- Fluid compatibility
If installation orientation is critical, confirm it before ordering.
11. OEM and Custom Check Valve Options
SUNRICH FLOW supports OEM and customized brass valve projects for importers, distributors and private-label customers.
Depending on the project, customization can be evaluated based on:
- Technical drawings
- Existing physical samples
- Required dimensions
- Thread requirements
- Material specifications
- Logo and product marking
- Private-label packaging
For projects without a technical drawing, an existing sample can also be used as the starting point for technical evaluation.
