3. What Is a Non-Rising Stem Gate Valve?

In a non-rising stem gate valve, the stem does not extend significantly upward as the valve is opened.

Instead, rotation of the handwheel operates the internal stem-and-gate mechanism while keeping the external valve height relatively compact.

This structure can be useful where available installation height is limited compared with a rising-stem valve.

4. How Does the Gate Valve Work?

Turn the Handwheel

Rotating the handwheel operates the brass stem and moves the internal bronze gate.

Gate Opens

As the gate moves away from the flow path, the passage through the valve opens.

Gate Closes

Rotating the handwheel in the opposite direction moves the gate back into the flow path.

Pipeline Is Isolated

In the fully closed position, the gate restricts flow through the valve.

Gate valves are primarily intended for fully open or fully closed isolation service rather than continuous throttling control.

6. Dimensions

The current technical drawing lists three connection sizes.
Dimensions are shown in millimeters.

D D1 L L1 H
Ø22 Ø19.05 57 16 86.5
Ø28 Ø25 63 19 96
Ø54 Ø50 98 33 153

Dimensions are based on the currently available technical drawing. Final connection compatibility should be confirmed before ordering.

7. Pressure and Testing

The valve is specified for a normal non-shock pressure of:

1.6 MPa / 16 bar

The current technical information also lists:

  • Shell test: 2.4 MPa hydrostatic
  • Seat test: 1.76 MPa hydrostatic
  • Air test: 8 bar

Test requirements for an OEM or project order should be confirmed according to the agreed specification before production.

8. Working Temperature

The current technical specification lists a working temperature range of:

-20°C to 120°C

Actual suitability also depends on the working medium, pressure and complete material configuration.

9. Lead-Free Bronze Option

The current factory information states that lead-free bronze materials are available.

If your project requires a specific lead-free alloy, drinking-water approval or market certification, provide the exact material or certification requirement before ordering.
Lead-free material availability alone should not be treated as proof of a particular drinking-water certification.

10. Connection Selection

The current technical drawing provides connection dimensions of Ø22, Ø28 and Ø54 mm, but the available source information contains conflicting descriptions of the actual connection type.

For this reason, buyers should confirm the connection method before ordering.

For replacement projects, useful information includes:

  • Existing valve photos
  • Pipe outside diameter
  • Connection dimensions
  • Technical drawing
  • Physical sample

11. What Should Buyers Confirm Before Ordering?

  • Required connection size
  • Actual connection type
  • Working pressure
  • Working temperature
  • Working medium
  • Standard or lead-free bronze requirement
  • Required dimensions
  • Testing requirement
  • Logo and marking
  • Packaging requirement
  • Order quantity

12. OEM and Custom Bronze Gate Valve Options

SUNRICH FLOW supports OEM and customized valve projects for importers, distributors and private-label customers.

Product development can be evaluated based on:

  • Technical drawings
  • Existing valve samples
  • Required dimensions
  • Connection requirements
  • Material specifications
